Fought against heavy odds it is all but forgotten, but was a pivotal moment in the Middle East. Improvising using mostly obsolete trainers that were hastily armed, the instructors and trainee pilots instead attacked the Iraqi forces. The author goes into detail that the bombing of Japanese cities was so effective that he suggests the use of the atom bomb was unnecessary. The dust jacket artwork is fascinating in that it depicts a B-29 fitted with a special radar “wing” under the fuselage. It was so secret that there are no known photographs of its installation.
